hi. sorry, but my ubuntu install is currently playing silly-buggers, and has no internet access. I haven't been able to get any updates recently, so the answre's 'yes', but not neccesarily 'cos it's still a problem.
a couple of points tho: like i said, i tested it in safe-mode, with all the extentions disabled, so unless other people can't replicate it it's probably an extention- indipendant problem. I also suspect (but cannot test, as i can't download any packages) that opera/konquerer/etc will also behave similarly; i.e., it's not a mozilla problem, but a problem with how the OS's mailhandler and the web- browser's mailhandler interact. id guess that the OS's mailhandler should just keep track of how many times it's recieved the same mailto: from a program recently, and refuse to play ping-pong with it after the third bounce. e.g.: program passes mailto: to OS-mailhandler OS-mailhandler passes mailto: to program program passes mailto: back to OS-mailhandler OS-mailhandler passes mailto: back to program program passes mailto: back to OS-mailhandler again OS-mailhandler passes mailto: back to program again program passes mailto: back to OS-mailhandler yet again OS-mailhandler gives up, and displays an error message. -- Firefox DOS (kind of) through bad 'preferred applications' custom mail reader command https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/106582 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
