Updating pidgin-sipe to the version in oneiric also doesn't help:
pidgin-sipe_1.11.2-1_amd64.deb still exposes the same behaviour.

** Description changed:

- I used cut&paste to copy an URL into a pidging window containing a chat using
the SIP: protocol.
+ I used cut&paste to copy an URL into a pidgin window containing a chat using
the SIP: protocol.
I then manually edited the URL, and pressed return

Several tests with the receiver of the message showed that the
- subsequent manuel edits to the URL are being discarded
+ subsequent manual edits to the URL are being discarded

  Example:

  Cut & paste of
  http://www.google.de/ig?hl=de
  to the SIP chat,
- remove "ig?hl=de", press return.
+ remove the training "ig?hl=de", press return.

  My own window shows:
  http://www.google.de/
  the receiver still gets:
  http://www.google.de/ig?hl=de

This ONLY happens via SIP:, switching to a jabber transport works just
  fine.
