Update: The most recent (less than an hour ago) latest system update to the (2.6.32-34.74) kernel now allow System Monitor to function.
However a WINE app is still crashing. I tried to reinstall it (Irfanview 4.25) and got these messages in the Console: "fixme:system:SystemParametersInfoW Unimplemented action: 88 (SPI_SETICONS) err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x165294 "?" wait timed out in thread 0034, blocked by 0010, retrying (60 sec)" It won't run via Desktop Shortcut, and when I attempt to load it from the Console with "wine irfanview.exe", I get this: wine: cannot find L"C:\\windows\\system32\\irfanview.exe" Something is still wrong with this latest kernel. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/825207 Title: gnome-system-monitor fails to launch with latest kernel upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/825207/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
