I've heard no other reports of behavior like this, nor have seen it on my own hardware running oneiric.
I scanned through the log files attached but there's no obvious error messages. Were these logs taken from while the system was hung? If not, reproduce the bug and collect at least dmesg and Xorg.0.log. One hypothesis is that it is a GPU hang during shutdown. If this is true, then while the system is hung there will be a /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/i915_error_state file with non-zero contents. Copy that file and attach it. Another hypothesis is that the display is entering a power save mode. You would discern this by the monitor being obviously "off" (power led changes from green to amber, or the screen grows cold). A third hypothesis is that the video output got remapped. This can be tested by ssh in and doing 'xrandr --verbose' before and after the freeze. (You may need to set DISPLAY=:0 in order to do this). You asked about other troubleshooting information. You can turn on modesetting debugging. Run the command 'sudo xdiagnose' and turn on graphics debugging (the first checkbox), and then reboot. Now your dmesg output should have much more detailed information. Reproduce the issue, and then collect dmesg; if the problem is a modesetting bug this might give some additional clues. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/819684 Title: No video after logout on Lenovo x220 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/819684/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
