Hi! I have a Asus Eee PC 901 as well and have noticed this bug. I actually had it on natty as well when trying a 3.0 linux kernel, going back to 2.6.39 made the touchpad work as expected again.
I have attached the requested log files log files for both running 3.0 and 2.6.39.
