Quick fix is to boot from the Live CD, mount the internal main drive from the places menu and move/remove some large files.
!USE WITH CAUTION! $ sudo rm /media/NAME_OF_MAIN_HD/path/to/file.deleteme If you are deleting a directory, use -r for recursive, if you have issues deleting the file use -f for force. Be careful and preform a backup before deleting files, if it is mission critical. ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/710124 Title: GUI doesnt start up without free space on main HD To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/710124/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
