I have a STudio 1749 and experienced the same problem when moving to 2.6.38 from 2.6.35. My hardware profile is very close to the original poster's. I too was frustrated with the problem.
However, after enabling the pm_trace functionality, I was able to identify the offending modules: firewire_core and firewire_ohci. After rmmod'ing these two I was able to successfully resume from suspend. I added them to the blacklist and have not had a problem. One issue I did run into, however, was after resuming the clock was be 10-20 years fast. STill working on a fix for that, but resume is now functional. Hope this helps. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/748994 Title: suspend hibernation not working on dell 1749 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/748994/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
