I have an identical issue, but in my case it only happens on my SATA drives (it happened with 2 different drives from different makers). The most strange thing is that it seems that only happens when i start apps, not when i read/write data files.
I finally move all Linux installations to my old ATA drives and /home/* and others file storages to SATA, a scheme that reduced a lot the noise. btw, not a clicking, but a loud trrrt-trrrt-trrrt continuously, that not happens with much older and cheaper drives. -- Hard drive noise with applications https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/110995 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
