Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 11.04 natty running Unity.

When changing the volume using the control buttons of my USB headset, I see:
a) when the volume is between 0 and 100% (according to the sound preferences)
... buttons work fine.
b) but when the volume is more than 100% (there is still a lot of room between
the 100% mark and the
right end of the volume slider!) only the "decrease volume" button has an
effect. This means:
When I put the slider to its absolute maximum, I can use my headset control to
decrease the volume.
But when using the "+" key ... volume does not change (although there is some
visible indication that
the button was pressed).
