When I tested linux-image-3.0.0-7-generic-pae_3.0.0-7.9_i386.deb today, I found
that connections using wicd were much more stable than before, getting one
stable test session in icewm with wicd. Then I switched sessions to
gnome-shell and nm-applet and promptly got the same constant, fairly rapid
disconnects and reconnects as before. On switching back to icewm/wicd, the
connection was up and down again, but at slower intervals than before.
Previously I had found no difference between results using nm-applet and wicd.
I found these results in testing due to having switched the netbook to icewm
for reasons of major improvements in video playback.
