I was able to replicate the behavior you observe, however it would appear that this behavior is "by design", and I'm unsure whether menu items which are supposed to perform actions should also be expected to respond to right-click to get properties on them. It's something I haven't seen in any other user interfaces. You can, of course, select "Show All Bookmarks" in the Bookmarks menu and work with your bookmarks there.
