Hrm, that doesn't look right actually.  That appears to be the mainline
3.0-rc7 kernel.  For the test kernel, I'd expect your uname -a output to
look similar to the following:

ogasawara@emiko:~$ uname -a
Linux emiko 3.0.0-7-generic #8~lp814882v4commit8c9f6e8b SMP Thu Jul 28 18:24:20 
UTC 2011 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

It's slightly odd that the mainline 3.0-rc7 kernel is now working for
you (this is what I had expected earlier when you first tried it).

Anyways, if you could try re-installing the test kernel and let me know
your results that would be great.  If it works, then I'm really baffled
because it's pretty much identical to what was uploaded for the official
3.0.0-7.8 release.
