With nothing else running on the box only my rsync test the Seagate
single drive causes iotop to report between 10 and 15 times the io
percentage as the Western Digital drive when both are set to transfer at
the same speeds. So any transfer that would cause ~9-10% io load on
Bravo is causing Alpha to become io-bound. Anything higher on bravo such
as to the 20% range will cause Alpha to fall behind and stay io-bound
for an extended period of time.

Is there a way to get more debug output for the hard drive io? Such as
determining if one of the chips between the hard drives and the cpu have
start to throw a high percent of errors on hard drive write operations.
