I have identified a way to cause unity to stick open: 1. Open Kile in full secreen mode with the "Open File" pane open on the left edge of the screen. 2. Drag a file from the list (doesn't matter where - it's starting to drag that matters) 3. Unity opens and remains open, even when changing desktops, applications etc.. 4. Quit Kile 5. Unity closes and subsequently behaves normally
