I had this problem, and made this patch to fix it: To apply (for Natty): mkdir -p tmp/deb; cd tmp/deb sudo apt-get build-dep network-manager-vpnc sudo apt-get source network-manager-vpnc cd network-manager-vpnc-0.8.1*/ patch -p1 < ~/path-to-patch/0001-Fix-VPNC-point-to-point-tunnels.patch dpkg-buildpackage sudo dpkg -i ../network-manager-vpnc_0.8.1*.deb
