I have the same problem on my ThinkPad T42 2373-Y9H... recently after upgrading to Feisty. Removing stopping bluetooth service and removing bluetooth modules (bluetooth, rfcomm, l2cap) doesn't help. I can't try the "stop wifi" workaround because I actually use wifi to connect to the Internet.
