I can confirm this problem! I have a synaptic touchpad with the feisty standard xorg.conf (nvidia enabled).
Very annoying. By the way, I would find it nice, if in Feisty+1 I could have the login screen for another user on a side of the desktop cube. I find this Alt+Ctrl+F* very annoying and not really worthy to be named FAST user switching, as it keeps my screen black for just too long. This is not a bug, but the normal behavior ever since! I believe X should somehow be started just once as user xorg. All other sessions access this instance. Whatever happens currently when you do Ctrl+Alt+F* seems to be the wrong thing, as it does not provide a seamless user experience and should therefore be abandoned some time soon.
