Public bug reported: Using WPA encrypted Wi-Fi on a notebook with "iwlagn" card (Fujitsu S761) causes random memory corruption.
Tested it with natty's linux-image-2.6.38-10 (both pae and non-pae) and libc, tried to upgrade kernel and glibc, got the same problem. Seems to be reproduceable on any kernel. What it looks like: programs like Firefox, Thunderbird, X server crash randomly, gcc fails while compiling with weird error messages ("syntax error" at line 87265876 of file containing only 10 lines), etc. How to reproduce: 1. Connect to a WPA protected network. (I just use network-manager). 2. Run any CPU- and memory-intensive task, i.e. "povray +W800 +H480 +A0.3 balcony.pov" There are 99% chances that it will segfault. It NEVER segfaults if the wlan commection is not WPA-protected.
