Public bug reported:
When trying install software-center, this error happened. This is probabily because I have python 2.6 installed, and some script (I don't know what) always update my default python installation to 2.6. If I move /usr/bin/python to version 2.7 software-center opens. This isn't the first problem with automatic update to python 2.6 in my system, a lot of applications do not check this and returns unrecognizable errors for normal users, like above, and most normal users do not see this messages, since they appear at terminals only. I think this applications need point to python2.7 directily (not "/usr/bin/python" link file) or (at least) display a human error message.
