hmm strange, if you have sata disks controlled by sd_mod (check whether that's loaded by "lsmod |grep sd_mod" ), i'd say there should be a file with a N/Y or 0/1 in /sys/class/scsi_disk/***/stop_on_shutdown (something for *** obviously)
