Public bug reported: I've connected my stereo installation to my home server (running lucid), and I've configured it to act as a network sink for my laptop's audio. It works like a charm.
In lucid and karmic, I would use padevchooser on my laptop to quickly change back to the built-in speakers when I'm on the road. In natty, it currently takes a few hacks to get padevchooser to even show up. It would therefore be very nice if a next version of the sound indicator would allow one to pipe all audio to a network host. Specifically, I'd like to be able to enter a hostname or IP address manually. (I may have fudged up some configuration here and there, causing my server to not show up in any network lists.) ** Affects: indicator-sound (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/812310 Title: The sound indicator applet should incorporate the functionality of padevchooser To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-sound/+bug/812310/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
