Just note: It would be fine have in mind there are HW solutions
with PointStick (Latitude E6410) -

Unfortunately touchpad and PointStick 
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trackpoint#Naming_and_brands) are the same device 
for xinput therefore François's way turn on/off both
