i noticed some kernel updates in the repos today and "apt-get upgrade" ran flawlessly. After reboot i noticed the remote will work when lircd is not running. at least i get some input on the cli if i press the remote buttons. If i restart /etc/init.d/lirc though (and it seems it starts perfectly, no errors), this effect vanishes immediately. This is all very strange
