We'll have to test a bit more to see whether or not control gets back to the kernel. I made a build that will reboot during resume when that happens. So if you install this build and the machine still hangs on resume then the problem is in the BIOS. I've only produced an i386 build since that's what you were running when you reported the bug; if you need an amd64 build let me know.
