Actually, the button image is the same but it is cut off in different
ways: on the right side for an active tab and on all sides for an
inactive tab (making it look smaller). The problem is that the button
padding is too large and there seem to be no simple way to modify it, or
have I missed something? In my humble opinion tabs (notebook) with close
buttons should really be a standard feature in GTK but unfortunately it
isn't.
