Installing Ubuntu 10.04.2 on HP Probook 6560b did not initially support any network interfaces. The wired network (according to spec) was Intel 82579LM. A workaround was to download and install e1000e-1.3.17.tar.gz from Intel's driver pages. The manual installation however broke networkmanager a bit. + --- + Architecture: amd64 + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release amd64 (20110211.1) + NonfreeKernelModules: wl + Package: linux (not installed) + ProcEnviron: + LANG=en_US.utf8 + SHELL=/bin/bash + Tags: lucid + Uname: Linux 2.6.33-02063305-generic x86_64 + UnreportableReason: The running kernel is not an Ubuntu kernel + UserGroups: adm admin cdrom dialout lpadmin plugdev sambashare -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/804281 Title: Ubuntu 10.04 does not detect and install NIC driver for Intel 82579LM To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/804281/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
