I have the same problems and resolved it just by booting with the latest
but one kernel that was automatically installed during the update from
Edgy to Feisty. Obviously, the latest but one kerne was not compiled
with the USB_SUSPEND-option. Now my Lide 20 works fine again.

If you do not need a kernel feature that is only available in the latest
kernel, just boot the latest but one distributed by Ubuntu - no need to
recompile your own kernel.
