I have the same problem. I am using a laptop with ALC260 soundcard, which is working just fine with XP.
But now I am using Ubuntu 6.10 and I can't make my laptop to produce sound via the internal/built-in speaker. After I edit my /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base by adding a line which is: options snd-hda-intel model=basic, I can finally hear sound from a speaker which I connected through the line out jack, but the sound is very soft. Please help me. -- No sound with Realtek ALC260 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/109377 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
