Public bug reported: While doing an upgrade from natty to oneiric, I noticed in powertop that update-notifier was waking up the system 3-5 times per second:
6.7% ( 47.2) update-notifier I'm pretty sure that if update-notifier were to wait a second or two before giving me the updated status, it would not be the end of the world ;) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: update-notifier 0.111ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-28.49-generic 2.6.35.11 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-28-generic x86_64 Architecture: amd64 Date: Mon Jun 27 07:26:34 2011 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release amd64 (20100816.1) ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_US:en PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: update-notifier UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to natty on 2011-06-27 (0 days ago) ** Affects: update-notifier (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug natty -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/802368 Title: update-notifier wakes up 3 times a second while update-manager is running To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-notifier/+bug/802368/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
