I have the same problem with Texmaker and with Skype. When I open Texmaker or Sykpe in one workspace and switch to another workspace, focussing another application, and I then switch back to Texmaker or Skype via the launcher, I cannot type sometimes. I do not have the drop- down issues with firedox, though. I also use 11.04
