Public bug reported: Somehow, there was a bzr lock on /etc when Update Manager did its daily update of my Natty machine today. Etckeeper was doing a commit before installing the newly downloaded packages.
I had to open a terminal, cd to /etc, and run "sudo bzr break-lock" to allow Update Manager to proceed. I only figured this out because of an error message mentioning bzr and then expanding the terminal view in Update Manager to see it repeatedly attempting to commit but not being allowed.
