Binary package hint: unity-2d In a unity-2d session on the Oneiric i386 20110621 daily-live, unity-2d- launcher 3.8.8-0ubuntu1 crashed with SIGSEGV in an unspecified function in libgobject-2.0.so.0. The stack trace here is not very good, but since the crash occurs after a GObject call, this is unlikely to be the same bug as bug 734878 or bug 729121 (which currently have the same title as this bug), since in those bugs the segfault occurs in QtDeclarative. + + I am not sure what triggered this. I had clicked on the Unity home + button a number of times, and performed a couple of searches, before it + happened, but that functionality is not provided by the unity-2d- + launcher binary. Curiously, the unity-2d-launcher does not contain any + application icons other than those which are running. I think that's due + to a different bug, though, because I always see that in the initial + unity-2d login on recent daily-lives, including past daily-lives where I + never experienced this crash. + + This crash occurred shortly after an occurrence of the crash documented + in bug 800065, but that crash has happened to me many times (including + on previous daily-lives) without this crash accompanying it.
