Thank you.  That "feature" was driving me crazy.  I did a Google search
on this topic and it seemed to be something that you could not turn off.
Unchecking it seems to persist after I exit and restart Shotwell.  Now I
can start to really look at the capabilities of the program to see if
it's a viable alternative to Picasa.

Is there any way to have it search on the name of the folders the
pictures are in as well as the individual file names?  Picasa searches
this way and it greatly simplifies how I label pictures.  I can have 30
images in a folder called "oliver" that have camera generated file
names, but in Picasa I just need to search on Oliver and it will find
them all.  In Shotwell, I have to rename each individual picture.

Are there any other filters or effects that can be added to Shotwell,
the way you can add things to Gimp?
