I upgraded to natty and still had problems. I moved the hard drives to a
new mainboard a 6-core phenom and 8gb ECC ram. That's been up for 29
days now. I've decided to try using the old Asus M3N78 Pro with USB
disabled at bios level. It will be used only to run some virtual
machines. I'll plug an old ps2 keyboard and crt monitor into it and I
won't even need a mouse. If I had multiple systems with this buggy
chipset I would try harder to make it work.
