Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: cvs

Hi,

I’m the new maintainer of CVS in Debian, and have made a totally new package.
The Ubuntu specific changes from 1:1.12.13-12ubuntu1 by Kees Cook have been
included there (thanks!): not using snprintf in gnulib’s vasnprintf to avoid
“having %n in writable memory”. Thus, I confirm explicitly that the Ubuntu
changes should be overridden.

The package builds cleanly in a fresh (2011-06-11) oneiric cowbuilder, and
lintian (2.5.0ubuntu1) doesn’t complain much. Basic operation testing passes.

This sync will close most if not all remaining open bugs of cvs in
Ubuntu.

** Affects: cvs (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
