In Ubuntu 11.04 this bug still persists. The involved external drive is a Samsung S2 (1 TB, USB 3.0). I don't understand why is not working - I have two other external drives which are working perfectly. When I try to "Safely Remove Drive" the Samsung external hdd an error message (see the attached picture) is thrown: Unable to stop drive:
