I'm doing some tests on Ubuntu Maverick server 10.10 64 bits
2.6.35-28-generic.

My dongle is:
ID 0a12:0001 Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle (HCI mode)

I've removed all packages related to bluetooth. Then, I installed ONLY
bluez and bluez-alsa (with libbluetooth3). All version 4.69 that exists
in the official repos.

So far, it seems to be working ok. The "timeout" problem, "can't init",
etc etc, shows up when I continue installing packages like blueman or
gnome-bluetooth.

I've a bluetooth a2dp receiver and I can pair with it.

I've run "bluetooth-agent 0000" on one terminal, and in the other I run "sudo
hcitool cc 00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx"
This is th result on syslog:
Jun  4 15:17:35 bluetoothd[5291]: pin_code_request (sba=00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx,
dba=00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx)

dba=00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx, type=0)

These are the only MANUAL packages installed at the moment:
~$ aptitude search '~i!~E' | grep -v "i A" | cut -d " " -f 4
acpid
alsa-utils
apparmor
audacious
bluez
bluez-alsa
boxee
build-essential
dkms
htop
language-pack-en
language-pack-gnome-en
language-support-en
linux-firmware

linux-image-generic

I'm going to continue testing installing bluez-gstreamer. My only aim is to
make this A2DP receiver work, so I really don't need gnome-bluetooth or
blueman, but what I could see is that the problem of "timeout", "can't init",
etc appears when those packages are isntalled. Maybe it is usefull as a hint or
clue to the programmers out there...
