I'm doing some tests on Ubuntu Maverick server 10.10 64 bits 2.6.35-28-generic.
My dongle is: ID 0a12:0001 Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle (HCI mode) I've removed all packages related to bluetooth. Then, I installed ONLY bluez and bluez-alsa (with libbluetooth3). All version 4.69 that exists in the official repos. So far, it seems to be working ok. The "timeout" problem, "can't init", etc etc, shows up when I continue installing packages like blueman or gnome-bluetooth. ~$ hciconfig -a hci0: Type: BR/EDR Bus: USB BD Address: 00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx ACL MTU: 1021:4 SCO MTU: 180:1 UP RUNNING PSCAN ISCAN RX bytes:3837 acl:16 sco:0 events:131 errors:0 TX bytes:1208 acl:16 sco:0 commands:79 errors:4 Features: 0xff 0x3e 0x09 0x76 0x80 0x01 0x00 0x80 Packet type: DM1 DM3 DM5 DH1 DH3 DH5 HV1 HV2 HV3 Link policy: RSWITCH HOLD SNIFF PARK Link mode: SLAVE ACCEPT Name: 'Accel-OB2' Class: 0x480000 Service Classes: Capturing, Telephony Device Class: Miscellaneous, HCI Version: 2.0 (0x3) Revision: 0xd LMP Version: 2.0 (0x3) Subversion: 0x3 Manufacturer: Cambridge Silicon Radio (10) ~$ hcitool scan Scanning ... 00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx ubuath I've a bluetooth a2dp receiver and I can pair with it. I've run "bluetooth-agent 0000" on one terminal, and in the other I run "sudo hcitool cc 00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx" This is th result on syslog: Jun 4 15:17:35 bluetoothd[5291]: pin_code_request (sba=00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx, dba=00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx) Jun 4 15:17:35 bluetoothd[5291]: link_key_notify (sba=00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx, dba=00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx, type=0) These are the only MANUAL packages installed at the moment: ~$ aptitude search '~i!~E' | grep -v "i A" | cut -d " " -f 4 acpid alsa-utils apparmor audacious bluez bluez-alsa boxee build-essential dkms htop language-pack-en language-pack-gnome-en language-support-en linux-firmware linux-generic linux-headers-generic linux-image-generic lirc lirc-x mc mplayer nfs-kernel-server openssh-server qmmp rungetty sqlite3 sqlitebrowser synaptic tasksel ubuntu-minimal ubuntu-standard usbmount ushare wireless-tools wpasupplicant xbmc xorg I'm going to continue testing installing bluez-gstreamer. My only aim is to make this A2DP receiver work, so I really don't need gnome-bluetooth or blueman, but what I could see is that the problem of "timeout", "can't init", etc appears when those packages are isntalled. Maybe it is usefull as a hint or clue to the programmers out there... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/460743 Title: [Lucid&Karmic] Cambridge Silicon Radio, Bluetooth Dongles do not work -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
