I have the same notebook, an IBM T23. In the Xorg.0.log I saw: (II) SAVAGE(0): Direct rendering enabled (==) RandR enabled
When I do a "glxinfo" I don't see the libGL errors... but still get: name of display: :0.0 display: :0 screen: 0 direct rendering: No I've had direct rendering enabled in the last version of Ubuntu, no configuration necessary.
