Attached a patch (and debdiff) that disables global menus, at least until a more permanent fix will be implemented upstream (the discussion on the gwyddion main forum is active on this topic, but no clear direction has been taken yet). The patch, although temporary, at least makes Gwyddion usable again (it is not at its present state).
