Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: thunderbird

Unity integration of thunderbird removed the menu bar from the
thunderbird window and moved it up to the panel. All that is remaining
in that area now is empty space (except for an activity indicator circle
at the top right corner) defeating the purpose of saving space on
smaller screens. See attached picture.
