sorry.. it was my fault to talk of a 'icon problem' and point this bug report to nvidia-settings. i should have opened the bug referred to the nvidia-glx package, that is part of the official ubuntu distribution. furthrmore, in feisty, nvidia-settings does not conflict anymore with linux-restricted-modules, but only with the binary package nvidia-glx.
so the argumentations of the Emmet's last comment in #44897 (imho) are not valid anynmore for the nvidia-settings package and are not valid at all for the nvidia-glx package however i see that leaving a menu entry without an icon should cause more bug reports than it could solve, but an icon was already proposed by Cristophe Dumez in bug #22297; i know it is not the best possible icon, but i is already available and could be a temporary solution. i report again the icon link: http://librarian.launchpad.net/1511704/icon_nvidia.png -- loading at every X startup & desktop icon https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/108060 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
