UPDATE: Leaving the password field blank and clicking "OK" still allows
the job to print.

So this means it's prompting for authentication, but then still using
the password saved in the keyring. That makes it somewhat less annoying,
but still problematic for users who don't know this trick. Ideally the
authentication dialog should not appear at all.

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: system-config-printer

This issue exists at least since 10.04 -

  - User adds a samba printer
  - On first print job, user is prompted for auth, checks "Remember Password"
  - Password is saved in user's keyring
  - User can browse shares on that samba server via nautilus without being
prompted for a password
  - User is still prompted to authenticate when printing to the samba printer.
  - Problem was intermittent in 10.04, seems to consistently not work in > 10.10
  - This happens both on workstations using winbind and those not using winbind.

I have tried various things such as changing the printer URI
(with/without workgroup name, etc) and making sure the hostname of the
windows box is resolvable. What is odd is that nautilus uses the keyring
for authenticating samba shares, but printing does not.
