Same issue on fresh install of 11.04 Natty Desktop from LiveDVD. Dell Inspiron 1300. Keyboard/touchpad lag/losing sync. Same report from dmesg. Mine is a little stranger then the others seem to be because sometimes the problem exists and sometimes it doesn't. There are times when I can login and go an entire session without any problems with the touchpad nor the keyboard. Other times the trouble exists with both input devices from the moment I login. Very random, and when things are working fine, I cant seem to recreate the problem with normal use of the system.
None of the above help scenarios have worked so far, including shutting off acpi in the kernel options or the nomux idea. There doesn't seem to be a connection between the keyboard/touchpad issue and my wireless device as some are reporting. My wireless is unaffected by this problem. Update: Right before posting I found this link and this has worked so far for my system.
