I have the same problem and this solution fixes it for me but I'm using
Classic Ubuntu11.04 and not unity, so let me know if this fixes it for
you guys.

Go to “Wobbly Windows”.

The next to last last line is “Move Windows”. The default is “Toolbar |
Menu | Utility | Dialog | Normal | Unknown”

We want to turn off Wobbliness for maximized windows. So we’re going to
surround the default statement in brackets and add
     "& !state=maxvert"

So it should look like this

(Toolbar | Menu | Utility | Dialog | Normal | Unknown) & !state=maxvert

This fixes it for me.
