I don't have these hangs with some SVG anymore, so I assume this is a non issue on Natty.
I have reproducible crashes though, with the same kind of SVG (with embedded raster images, png, jpg). I think the crashes are a reported issue, but I'll confirm and issue a new bug report for it.
