Hmmm.....that is strange. The install was on a computer belonging to my friend. So, I cannot attach the logs now, but I can try and make a dual- boot on an XP computer again, and give the status on that. When I tried to edit the Windows partition, the only options were "Use as" and "Mount Point". However, on my Ubuntu computer, I had the option of resizing the Ubuntu partition. I'll try the installation again on an XP computer and get you the logs.
