Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kvm
Running Kubuntu 7.04 amd64, on a Athlon64 (with virtualization support). I used the standard "kvm" package through apt-get. # I created an image qemu-img create -f qcow2 vdisk.img 4G # I run the VM sudo kvm -hda vdisk.img -cdrom xubuntu-7.04-alternate-amd64.iso -boot d -m 256 Then the VM is stuck (no log anywhere) with CPU at 100% for the process at: --- 8< --- 8< --- 8< --- Booting from CD-Rom... ISOLINUX 3.11 Debian-2007-03-12 [...bla bla bla...] Loading... --- 8< --- 8< --- 8< --- I also tried: - less memory - other i386 and amd64 cdrom images for Ubuntu-like, latest Mandriva CD - to use the option "-no-kvm" it always freezes after "Loading..." If I try with the basic "qemu", it starts (but it's slow as expected). I try to run with qemu, save the VM, and restore it under kvm, but the VM is freezed. The following CD images starts: - Windows 2000 - Fedora Core 6 amd64 - geexbox 1.0 i386 ** Affects: kvm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- kvm can not boot ubuntu CD and DVD on amd64 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/108958 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
