I figured out that this is even easier to reproduce if the command reset was used before because it needs some time for initilization even on fast computer.
Maybe it's not a bug but this behaviour is very unlikely. For example if you login in a virtual console and type your username and press enter the input isn't locked after this time. People which are writing fast are now typing some letters from their password in plaintext before the prompt reacts and hide all letters followed now.
