I can confirm this bug on my HP notebook 11.04 w/ Unity. If I do a sudo halt from the terminal it shuts down properly, however, reboot from the menu or terminal still do not work. Rather than hanging on a black screen, shutdown from the menu or either reboot will hang on the Ubuntu splash screen with the dots. A couple of the dots animate and then nothing - hung.
