Similar problems in my system after upgrade from 10.10 to 11.04. Network doesn't go up with the system startup. I need to replug the nic to USB slot - then it starts instantly. Afterwards the connection is unstable and slow. The system is stable though - no hangs or whatsoever. I attach relevant lines of syslog.
